Please browse here to find books that I think are worth your time.... or are real stinkers. I will let you know what I REALLY think of what I am reading. You might not find the newest and most popular books here, but I would LOVE it if you find something unexpectedly great!

I will indicate on each post the Lexile level of the book.

The Choice: Embrace the Possible

By Edith Eger
Lexile =

I have read a fair amount of Holocaust memoirs. Edith was an aspiring ballerina during World War II before she was sent to Auschwitz. Her talent was discovered and she was actually forced to dance to Joseph Mengele, the "Angel of Death". Years after her survival and eventual liberation, the author became a psychologist and used her learned resiliency to inform her psychology practice. So this is a book to learn from, enjoy, and improve yourself as well!

The first of The Choice is a narrative memoir. The latter part of the book is devoted the Dr. Eger's theme of survival... of making the choice to survive and even thrive. She is currently 91-years-old. A TED talk from 2018 is HERE.
