Please browse here to find books that I think are worth your time.... or are real stinkers. I will let you know what I REALLY think of what I am reading. You might not find the newest and most popular books here, but I would LOVE it if you find something unexpectedly great!

I will indicate on each post the Lexile level of the book.

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus

by Nabeel Qureshi
Lexile = ?

I don't really like audiobooks. It isn't a "those aren't real books" thing; I honestly havea hard time following a storyline without a visual. Likely that means something about my educational development, but that is another topic. I do LOVE podcasts. I like to hear ideas discussed intelligently. So, I do like non-fiction audiobooks! Especially on a long road trip. Enter my friend, Sora:

Sora is a FREE app with a FREE library of titles available through the Ridgeline Library. Easy to use, as well. And it will save your reading soul on a long (or short) road trip.

I searched through the non-fiction selection and stumbled upon Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus. It was a Sunday, so I thought it might be appropriate. Qureshi was raised as a Muslim and relates the story of his conversion to Christianity through his relationship with a good friend in college. This is a HUGE step in any life, but especially in the life of a Muslim. Most interesting for me was the author's intelligent explanation of how the Muslim World views the West generally and Christianity specifically. This is NOT a book I would normally pick up and read, but i enjoyed the afternoon listening!

Qureshi died in 2017 of cancer. Read more about his life and works HERE.
