Please browse here to find books that I think are worth your time.... or are real stinkers. I will let you know what I REALLY think of what I am reading. You might not find the newest and most popular books here, but I would LOVE it if you find something unexpectedly great!

I will indicate on each post the Lexile level of the book.

Crackback

By John Coy
Lexile = 490

Do you need a quick read? How about a book to carry to class because your teacher requires you to have a book? Well, you might as well have one that you LIKE, as well. As you can see by the Lexile number above, Crackback is NOT a hard book to read. But it really is a terrific story. Here goes:

Miles has just started playing varsity for his high school team. His friends on the team have been his friends forever. The team is expected to win the conference and maybe take state. Lots of pressure... from coaches, fans, and especially from his Dad...pressure to run faster, be stronger, and maybe be something that he is not. Coy has given us a realistic look inside inside the mind of a high school football player. At least I think it is realistic; I'm NOT a high school football player. You tell me.
