Please browse here to find books that I think are worth your time.... or are real stinkers. I will let you know what I REALLY think of what I am reading. You might not find the newest and most popular books here, but I would LOVE it if you find something unexpectedly great!

I will indicate on each post the Lexile level of the book.
To find out more about Lexile levels, go HERE.

Use the labels list on the right side of the screen to find a title about something you are interested in. You can also search by Lexile levels.

Happy Reading!

Save the Date

By Morgan Matson
Lexile = 900

Ever searching for more romance... I present Morgan Matson. She has (at least) five sweet romances available here at Ridgeline, and I will continue to buy her new releases. As you can tell by the cover, this is a bit of humorous, even "mad-cap" romance with a wedding as the backdrop.

Charlie Grant is the youngest of what seems to be a terrific family with five kids. The older sister is getting married and of course everyone is coming home for the event. Central to the story is the fact that Charlie's mom is well-know comic strip artist and the subject of her strip is the Grant family. Some sample strips are included in the book.
Remeinds be of the Zits strip. Mrs. Grant's work has led through the years to some embarrassing exposés of personal details of the kids' lives. So the pressure is on for this weekend, but things continue to go wrong. And who would invite the Today Show to film an interview on the morning of the wedding?

I found that this is not so much a romance as a family drama with a bit of romance sprinkled in. Charlie loves her family and has high hopes for the week that they are all together, but life keeps getting in the way. The first chapter has a pretty serious make-out scene, but that is it for potentially questionable content. The rest of the novel is truly a salute to the love of a big family.

All the book trailers that I have found are produced outside the US... which makes sense because I heard about this author from one of our exchange students! Perhaps Matson is making her mark abroad! Watch one of those trailers HERE.
