Willow Chance is a 12 year old girl who is considered as a weirdo to her classmates and a genius to her very strange school counselor. After the death of her parents, Willow must overcome her grief and find a way of going on with her life. Throughout the book, we can see the changes that Willow goes through, and especially the changes she makes in the lives of the people around her. Counting by 7s is a sweet coming-of-age novel that brings up the question of what is a family?

This book is "aimed" at a younger audience ... more like middle school, but if I liked it, you might as well! Watch the author talk about her book HERE.
