Honor Girl

By Maggie Thrash
Lexile = 400 Graphic Novel

This memoir came to me via my subscription from Junior Library Guild. I Trust them to find new amazing books that I might not encounter otherwise. I haven't read a lot of graphic novels before, so I thought I'd try this one. Common Sense media summed up the book with a memoir of "first love at an all-girls summer camp when she was 15, where she falls in love with 19-year-old counselor Erin." Yes, this is a same-sex romance.

I admit that I gave up on this one about half-way through. I really had a hard time following the plot because of the graphic nature of the book. I also admit that I was reading to find the potentially objectionable "scene" mentioned in other reviews. I missed it. There is some rough language here, but for the right reader, this book will entertain.
