I usually devour all Beehive nominees. However this title, and the cover, and the flap did not appeal to me at all. I read it anyway and expected to call it a stinker. But….. This is the story of a homesteading family that even before the story has begun has all died, except for the little sister and the big brother. They are determined to make it to Oregon if they don’t die as well first. Sad story… well told…. I have passed this on to several friends. A terrific read!
